About The Position

Housing & Food Services is hiring multiple full-time Customer Service Representatives. These roles provide internal and external customer support for various University functions, events, and services, including housing, dining, hospitality, transportation, facilities, and athletics. Tasks require knowledge of University policies, procedures, practices, and protocols to troubleshoot issues, provide timely resolutions, and promote products and services. The position involves greeting faculty, staff, students, and visitors, investigating and responding to concerns, facilitating customer experiences like processing orders and registrations, and operating computers and point-of-sale systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply knowledge of University policies, procedures, practices, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in operating computers, point-of-sale, and other systems/equipment.
  • Ability to maintain manuals, documents, knowledge base articles, and records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal and external customer support for University functions, events, and services.
  • Greet faculty, staff, students, and visitors, often serving as the first point of contact.
  • Assist customers in person, electronically, by telephone, or by mail.
  • Investigate and respond to issues of concern using knowledge of University policies, procedures, practices, and protocols.
  • Isolate and troubleshoot problems, provide guidance and timely solutions, and follow up as necessary.
  • Escalate issues as required.
  • Facilitate a variety of customer experiences, including processing orders and registrations.
  • Create ID cards and specialty badges.
  • Communicate campus logistics information such as on-site navigation, transportation services, parking, and facility access/restrictions.
  • Promote and market products, projects, programs, and services.
  • Explore, determine, and strive to accommodate customer desires, needs, and requirements.
  • Provide on-site and e-commerce ticketing and product sales, verifying eligibility.
  • Process or collect costs/fees, prepare invoices, and settle payments.
  • Issue receipts/refunds.
  • Communicate product and services improvement recommendations.
  • Operate computers, point-of-sale, and other systems/equipment to expedite purchases/services, research information, and record data.
  • Maintain manuals, documents, knowledge base articles, and records.
  • May process a variety of financial transactions and assist with inventories.
  • May supervise part-time staff, including hiring and performance management.
