About The Position

We are seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic Veterinary Service Specialist to join our Livestock division team. Experience in customer service and a fast-paced and hands-on environment is a must. Our VSS will schedule ambulatory and in house patient visits as well as assist with daily record keeping and accounts receivable questions. Hours will include afternoon/evenings and a Saturday rotation shared with other VSS. Full time or part time will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule ambulatory and in-house patient visits.
  • Assist with daily record keeping.
  • Assist with accounts receivable questions.
  • Answer and correctly handle phone calls and messages.
  • Know basic triage concepts and understand when appropriate to forward to a veterinarian.
  • Answer questions from clients and handle calls or emails quickly, efficiently, and in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Keep the reception area clean and tidy as well as properly stock supplies as needed.
  • Access client information within the practice-management software system (Cornerstone) and enter and retrieve client and patient data as needed.
  • Check clients and visitors in and out of the hospital.
  • Accurately manage financial transactions such as processing bills, taking payments and supply order requests from clients.
  • Call to remind clients of their appointments and rescheduling as necessary.
  • Explain delays that affect clients and support comfort of clients and patients.
  • Reschedule or accelerate appointments as needed.
  • Process health certificates and necessary paperwork for animal transport.
  • Engage in productive work during slow periods.
  • Participate in staff and training meetings.
