About The Position

This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and satisfaction by ensuring phone, email, or fax orders are imputed accurately and timely, customer inquiries are responded to in a thorough, timely manner and by supporting the sales efforts of the outside sales group. In addition, courteously answer and direct phone calls and communicate any food safety or product concerns to the appropriate groups.

Requirements

  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal human relations and teaming skills.
  • Must be quick and accurate with figures, attentive to detail, and have good follow-through.
  • Ability to receive orders audibly and simultaneously input accurately into order entry system.
  • Must have excellent phone and PC skills i.e Windows Office suite.
  • Must be flexible and able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously.
  • Must have proven conflict resolution, problem-solving skills.
  • Must be skilled in time management and be capable of meeting work schedule deadlines.
  • Reliable; consistently at work and on time.
  • Ability to observe and follow proper safety procedures, and a willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Outlook/Explorer a plus.
  • Prefer both retail and wholesale produce experience
  • Prefer high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for courteously receiving telephone customer requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations.
  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Uses AS400/EView to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders.
  • Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.
  • Follows up on inquiries by checking computer runs on systems for delivery information.
  • Works closely with transportation and salespersons regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Makes price quotations by phone on price/order book items.
  • Maintains systems file of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes and partial shipments.
  • Maintain a sound working knowledge and expertise of produce commodities and be capable of providing expert consulting to customers.
  • Be current on all products/produce on hand (in stock) and on order.
  • Notify and assist salespersons by communication of customer's needs and preferences.
  • Maintain effective, professional relationships with customers and fellow employees.
  • Provide support and provide assistance for outside salespersons. This includes customer service, administrative task and special projects.
  • Participate in special projects deemed necessary to the operation and well-being of the company.
  • Responsible for keeping a current call schedule including times, names, and phone numbers.
  • Make sure all orders are submitted before scheduled cut off times.
  • Must be punctual and have excellent attendance and communicate all breaks to supervisor to ensure phone coverage.
  • All other duties as assigned
