About The Position

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as the primary point of contact for customers within the meat processing and distribution operation. This role is responsible for order entry, product inquiries, pricing communication, resolving customer concerns, and ensuring accurate coordination between sales, production, and logistics teams. The CSR plays a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction while supporting operational efficiency and food safety compliance. At Meats by Linz, our Customer Service Representatives play a vital role in the overall success of the company. While primary responsibilities are outlined above, this position requires flexibility and a willingness to support various operational needs as they arise. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in outside sales, foodservice, hospitality, restaurant, meat/protein distribution, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and developing new business.
  • Strong ability to build, maintain, and grow professional customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and sales opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to prospect for new customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person sales visits.

  • Ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer and sales records.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth market and assigned territory regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with chefs, executive chefs, restaurant owners, purchasing managers, food & beverage directors, distributors, and other foodservice decision-makers.
  • Previous experience selling beef, pork, poultry, seafood, specialty proteins, or other food products.
  • Knowledge of premium beef, portion-controlled proteins, dry-aged products, or specialty meat programs.
  • Established book of business within the Dallas/Fort Worth foodservice market.
  • Experience selling to steakhouses, independent restaurants, hotels, resorts, country clubs, casinos, or high-end foodservice accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Foodservice Management, or a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers regarding product selection, pricing, and delivery needs
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally
  • Enter customer orders accurately and in real-time based on system requirements and inventory availability
  • Monitor and communicate any known product shortages or delivery issues immediately
  • Manage and respond to customer service email inquiries in a timely manner
  • Ensure all applicable fees are applied correctly to orders
  • Print and organize all necessary paperwork for drivers (local and freight)
  • Prepare and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and invoices
  • Email Bills of Lading to appropriate contacts when required
  • Organize and distribute shipping documentation to drivers
  • Process UPS and FedEx shipping labels and schedule FedEx pickups as needed
  • Book air shipments through approved carriers when necessary
  • Organize orders and paperwork by delivery date
  • Scan, process, and file invoices, Bills of Lading, and handwritten orders
  • Verify daily invoices to ensure pricing accuracy and customer signatures
  • Process credits submitted by drivers and receiving departments, ensuring correct pricing and product validation before printing
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for auditing purposes
  • Collaborate with the sales team to maintain updated and accurate customer order guides
  • Learn and understand all warehouse products (both produced and purchased items)
  • Provide accurate product information to customers and sales representatives
