About The Position

Janel Group is seeking a Part-time Customer Service Representative to coordinate freight movements, communicate with drivers, and ensure timely deliveries to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in trucking/logistics, as well as customer service experience dealing directly with the customer. The position is based in our Lake Charles, LA office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Solid computer skills, required
  • Solid communication skills, required

Nice To Haves

  • 6-12 months of relevant experience as a dispatcher in the trucking and/or hot shot industry, highly preferred
  • Experience in trucking/logistics
  • Customer service experience dealing directly with the customer

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations based on customer needs and load availability.
  • Communicate with drivers to provide route updates, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipments, delivery times, and service issues.
  • Coordinate with warehouses, freight brokers, and shippers to optimize routes and load efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and load details.
  • Assist in resolving transportation delays, driver concerns, and other logistical challenges.
  • Resolve customer complaints and service-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, carriers, and vendors.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails regarding dispatch, delivery confirmations, and load availability.
  • Other duties as assigned
