About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting branch sales growth, including new business development, by actively communicating with dealers about new product launches, services, supplies, prices, and discounts. The position involves maintaining house accounts through outbound calls and in-house discussions, as well as conducting outbound calls to existing and lost customer accounts. The representative will also maintain sales programs within their assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices, and new products. A key aspect of the role is providing excellent customer service through walk-ins, phone calls, and emails, addressing inquiries about products, orders, sales, warranties, and returns. The position requires executing all aspects of the sales function, including order processing, purchase orders, payment processing, quotes, and delivery dates, ensuring accuracy to guarantee correct item orders. Additionally, the role involves recommending alternate products, obtaining and monitoring scheduled shipment dates for timely delivery, and coordinating with various departments and vendors regarding shipments. Generating new and repeat sales through timely product and technical information, educating customers on product terminology, features, and benefits, and providing accurate availability information for in-stock items are also crucial. The representative will conduct cycle counts, replenish showroom stock, and collaborate with the Branch Manager to resolve customer issues and ensure adherence to company policies. Daily cash drawer processing, end-of-shift money counts, preparing deposit slips, and maintaining sales activity records and reports are part of the daily duties. Periodic customer outreach to gauge satisfaction, monitoring competitive activity and industry trends, and expanding knowledge of HVAC products are expected. The role also emphasizes positive collaboration with management and peers to ensure effective teamwork and high service levels, understanding and following work instructions, operating procedures, and company policies. Assistance in the warehouse, including inventory counts and product movement (potentially operating a forklift), may also be required, along with performing additional assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Help the branch build its sales including the new business component by helping to maintain house accounts through active Dealer communication of new product launches, services, supplies, prices and new products sales and or discounts via outbound calls and in house counter discussions.
  • Conduct outbound calls of existing and lost customer accounts.
  • Maintain sales programs within assigned territory by keeping customers informed about available services, supplies, prices and new products.
  • Provide excellent customer service via walk-ins, phone calls and e-mails; includes product/order information, sales, warranties and returns.
  • Execute all aspects of the sales function including order processing, purchase orders, payment processing, quotes and delivery dates - ensure accuracy of information being entered to guarantee correct item(s) are ordered.
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications as needed.
  • Obtain and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, sales, distribution and vendors regarding shipments.
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
  • Educate customers about product terminology, features and benefits in order to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.
  • Conduct cycle counts as required.
  • Replenish the show room stock as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to determine best methods to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to the organization’s policies.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with appropriate departments.
  • Daily processing of cash drawer, end of shift count of money, prepare deposit slip and place in safe.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on sales activities.
  • Periodically reach out to customers to determine satisfaction with the organization, products and services.
  • Monitor competitive activity and trends within territory.
  • Expand knowledge of HVAC products and keep current with latest trends within the industry.
  • Work positively with all levels of management and peers to ensure all areas and departments are kept up to speed and are working as an effective team to deliver the highest level of service possible.
  • Understand and follow work instructions, operating procedures and company policies.
  • Assist in warehouse as needed, including inventory counts and movement of product including operating a forklift.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
