Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years business-to-business customer service experience preferably in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong mechanical and sales aptitude
  • Ability to effectively work with multiple internal departments
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Business and/or technical degree preferred.
  • Experience working with OEM (original equipment manufacturers) customers highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Process all incoming orders in a timely manner from receipt of order through verifying product availability, pricing, margin, terms, credit status, order entry, release and order special products.
  • Provide professional, timely and efficient assistance to customers to address questions and resolve problems including product returns, and identification and recommendation of process improvements.
  • Provide basic technical product information to customers.
  • Assist outside sales representatives, engineering or estimating with quotation process.
  • Actively monitor the status of open customer purchase orders; backlogs, expedite and/or reschedule as necessary. Collaborate with other departments and communicate updates to the customer.
  • Manage customer portals.
  • Manage VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) orders.
  • Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
