About The Position

Develops and maintains knowledge of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, supplies, and payor regulations. Serves as the main liaison between the customer and the company, handling new and existing customer needs. Greets and assists walk-in customers, triage phone calls for order status inquiries, and provides education on proper use and care of medical equipment and supplies. Recommends complimentary products to ensure patient safety and promote functional independence. Resolves customer complaints regarding delivery or product malfunctions. Set up recurring deliveries as indicated for customers. Troubleshoot technical concerns with equipment. Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict. Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Basic knowledge of durable medical equipment products

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology course or certification preferred
  • One (1) year of related healthcare, customer service, call center, or insurance experience preferred
  • Requires five (5) hours or CEU’s of approved continued education annually with emphasis on customer service, DMEPOS products, and/or Electronic Health Record (EHR) optimization
