Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, you will play an essential role in supporting the public, regional office, and Arizona’s vibrant community of hunters, anglers, and boaters. Requirements

  • Knowledge of public relation practices; Game and Fish Commission rules and orders; A.R.S. Title 5, Title 17, Title 33 and other applicable Arizona Revised Statutes; Department Accounting Manual, Special License Manual, ATF Laws, various city, county, state & Native American regulations and ordinances.
  • Skills in business English, spelling, state geography, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, NCR Counterpoint, Informix, up-sell techniques, written communication, 10 key, desktop computer, printers, copier, fax, proofreading, listening, customer service and problem solving.
  • Ability to provide world class customer service, able to defuse a difficult situation, extend courtesy to all customers internal and external, ability to handle dead or sick or injured animals and assist all program employees, ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides essential front-facing support to the public, ensuring the seamless delivery of Department services.
  • Registration and inspection of watercraft to ensure compliance with Federal requirements and A.R.S. Title 5.
  • Verifying legal ownership documentation, managing database entry, issuing official titles, and processing revenue through Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Issues hunting and fishing licenses, special use stamps, and non-permit tags in strict accordance with A.R.S. Title 17 and Commission Rules.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for the public, requiring the professional interpretation of state and federal laws, Department policies, and procedures related to wildlife management and complex registrations across multiple communication channels.
  • Over the counter services, registering watercraft, inspecting watercraft when necessary, ensuring validity of legal documentation of ownership, issues new ownership documents, assess fees, collects revenue, identifies stolen watercraft - notifies Law Enforcement, enters revenue into POS register, responsible for cash security & accountable inventory.
  • Over the counter services, issues licenses, special licenses, tags, stamps, and publications. Determines fees, collects revenue, responsible for publications, license inventory and security of those items. Prepares daily reconciliation reports.
  • Responds to public inquiries through mail, in person, over Internet & phones. Answers questions about watercraft registration, hunting, fishing regulations, where to hunt & fish, injured or nuisance wildlife or urban wildlife issues. Prepares special mail outs for hunts, special events, sorts, labels & stuffs for mail outs.
  • Purchases supplies, goods & services for the region using Arizona Procurement Portal (APP) to process punch-outs & purchase orders. Process's invoices on received products to make payments. Makes travel arrangements for regional travelers using the Ghost Card. Process or assist with monthly Ghost Card/PCard purchases and reconcile the monthly statements.
  • Works with regional budgets, tracking expenditures, inputting information onto budget spreadsheets. Research issues as they arise. Assists other programs at special events. Process travel claims, employee reimbursement & seasonal fire paperwork.
  • Utilizes Cash Pro system to financially process watercraft transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
