This role involves operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, and cleaning the equipment and facility. Training and orientation are provided on the job. The position requires the ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, and to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person. Essential skills include accurate and quick calculation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), making correct monetary change, strong verbal, writing, and telephone skills, good eye-hand coordination for precise movements, and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The work environment includes exposure to varying weather conditions, a range of in-store temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Sensory requirements include talking and hearing on the telephone, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments required include the ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze data, and make judgments and decisions. Most tasks are performed standing, with walking on tile/brick/linoleum surfaces. Work surfaces are between 36 and 48 inches high. Lifting involves handling deliveries up to 50 pounds, often from floor to shelves up to 72 inches high. Carrying includes items up to 40 pounds. Pushing involves moving trays on dollies with a force up to 7.5 pounds. Climbing stairs or ladders may be required infrequently. Stooping/bending is necessary at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking. Crouching/squatting is performed occasionally for cleaning. Reaching is continuous, up, down, and forward, including reaching above 72 inches for oven controls or sign changes. Hand tasks require continuous use of one or both hands, including frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists for dough shaping, and pinching for box assembly. Tools and equipment may include pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza wheel.
