About The Position
We're seeking a Part-Time Customer Service Processing Technician to join our HNTB team. This is a customer service-focused position located on-site at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit in Garner, North Carolina. The work hours are in the evening from 5 pm to 10 pm Monday through Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or someone interested in working evenings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience with mapping or routing software
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in map reading and spatial orientation
Responsibilities
- Providing excellent customer service
- Utilizing mapping and other software applications
- Processing permit applications for NCDOT Oversize/Overweight Permit Unit
- Evaluates the state highway system infrastructure for proposed routing of specialty vehicles requiring permits such as oversize and/or overweight trucks.
- Utilizes mapping and other software applications to analyze and evaluate maps, bridge weight, and clearance data.
- Interprets truck route ordinance and establishes safe routing for vehicle/vehicle combinations in partnership with industry professionals.
- Processes transportation permit applications for appropriate agency.
- Maintains up-to-date training for Purchase Card Industry (PCI) standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned
