About The Position

The Maple Grove Community Center is seeking friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Customer Service- Front Desk staff. In this role, you will be one of the first points of contact for Community Center guests and play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for everyone who visits. You will be challenged to assist guests with questions about programs, services, and facilities; process admissions, registrations, memberships, and rentals; answer and route phone calls; and provide general administrative support. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and enjoys helping people in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Lift 25 lbs or more.
  • Ability to work weekends, Saturday-Sunday between 8AM - 8PM
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and pleasant under stressful situations.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and use simple math skills.
  • Willingness to learn effective sales techniques.
  • Ability to be flexible and cooperative with work schedule.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate various office equipment and personal computers.
  • Ability to help the general public in person or on the phone.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or post-secondary education or training in business, office administration, customer service, or a related field.
  • Ability to work weeknights, Monday - Friday 4:30 - 8PM
  • Previous working experience in a diverse, high-traffic environment.
  • Previous experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash registers, and processing payment transactions.
  • Previous experience providing customer service, answering phones, assisting visitors, and performing general administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments, registrations, memberships, room rentals, and activity fees using RecTrac and related cash-handling systems; maintain accurate cash drawers, daily deposits, and start-up funds.
  • Provide professional front-desk and customer service support by answering multi-line phones, routing calls, greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, and assisting a diverse clientele with questions and concerns.
  • Process recreational program registrations, applications, forms, and rental inquiries received in person, by phone, and online, following established procedures and providing general information about programs and services.
  • Prepare daily documents, signage, and materials for facility operations; assist with mailings, deliveries, and the collection and distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Operate computers, ID/pass validation systems, photocopiers, fax machines, and other office equipment to support daily facility operations.
  • Maintain a welcoming and professional environment, utilizing conflict de-escalation skills and performing other duties as assigned by facility leadership.
