About The Position

Physicians Independent Management Services, Inc. (PIMS) is currently looking to hire a bilingual (English-Spanish) Customer Service & Collections Specialist. The primary job function is to make outbound and receive inbound calls for the purpose of collecting open medical balances. Functions include: Taking inbound calls from patients to discuss their account balance, processing payments, offering discounts/settlements as necessary, or setting up payment plans. Duties may also include updating and rebilling insurance claims or referring accounts to appropriate internal departments.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking is required)
  • Knowledge of Business Office Procedures.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Comprehension of EOBs and standard medical documentation.
  • Great phone manners and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • 1-year call center or collections experience required
  • Excellent attendance

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience collecting in a call center or healthcare environment dealing specifically with patient/consumer collections.
  • Medical and remittance/ EOB terminology and familiarity are a plus.
