About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. The role includes assisting customers, handling transactions at an assigned register, maintaining cash security and protecting company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving merchandise and helping unload trucks, and replenishing stock according to productivity standards. Associates are expected to help maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional, friendly interactions. The role also includes keeping the store clean and presentable, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and taking out trash. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
