About The Position

ELS is hiring for the position of Customer Service Associate - DC in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is for an experienced customer service representative who is passionate about helping people. The ideal candidate can listen to customers and provide solutions, is patient, and can explain things clearly and simply. The role involves working with a website that offers a variety of products that can sometimes seem confusing. The company operates in the manufactured housing industry, providing services and products nationwide, with the majority of team members based in Michigan. The Customer Experience (CX) team supports the website mhvillage.com, which assists users in buying and selling manufactured homes, and learning about manufactured home communities and living. The CX team interacts with customers via phone, email, and chat, requiring excellent communication skills, including quick and grammatically correct written responses. Responsibilities include answering phone calls, calling customers for information, and assisting a diverse range of users from individual homeowners to corporate representatives. The team values quality interactions over call volume or duration. The CX team is described as small but mighty, with a supportive environment, but also expects independent work and problem-solving. Management is experienced and provides accessible, inclusive support. Data entry is also a part of the role, with experience in Google Sheets and GMail being helpful.

Requirements

  • More than a couple of years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to write responses quickly using complete sentences free from grammatical errors.
  • Comfortable with websites.
  • Experience writing emails.
  • Experience answering phone calls.
  • Patient and able to explain things in a clear, simple manner.
  • Ability to work independently and be a problem solver.
  • Experience with Google Sheets and GMail is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Help customers with website-related inquiries.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and chat.
  • Write clear, concise, and grammatically correct responses to customers.
  • Answer phone calls and make calls to customers to gather information.
  • Assist senior citizens and Vice Presidents of companies with listing homes.
  • Perform data entry tasks.
  • Work with Google Sheets and GMail.
