About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them locate and select merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise and will spend time organizing and replenishing products. Daily responsibilities vary by department, which may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. You may prepare merchandise to meet customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials. The role involves working inside and outside in conditions that vary by location, including possible extreme heat or cold, wet or humid conditions, wind, and noise. Associates follow lifting guidelines, use team lifts where appropriate, and use powered equipment only with proper training or trained coworker assistance. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required only with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
