About The Position

The Customer Service Associate is a part-time position that will perform cashiering, customer service, light housekeeping and general stocking for the convenience store. This position starts as part-time, with the possibility of becoming full-time in the future.

Ability to work defined work schedule and to report to work on time is required
Reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Previous work experience in a convenience store or retail setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Greets customers in a welcoming and professional manner, utilizing customer-focused interpersonal skills.
Complies with federal and state laws regarding the sale of tobacco and nicotine products, refusing sales to individuals under 18.
Operates gas pumps, turning them on and off.
Maintains the coffee area, stocking supplies, brewing coffee, and refilling thermals.
Ensures hot food is kept at the appropriate temperature and units are turned off at night.
Works safely to prevent harm to self, customers, co-workers, equipment, or inventory.
Processes checkout transactions using cash registers and credit/debit card terminals, accurately handling cash and making change.
Maintains proper cash levels in the register drawer and bags items for customers.
Refills register paper and replenishes merchandise, facing products on shelves for a neat presentation.
Identifies expiration codes on food items and notifies management.
Monitors entrances and exits to promote store safety and security, and to minimize merchandise loss.
Escalates security concerns to store leadership.
Performs daily housekeeping duties to ensure a neat, clean, and welcoming environment, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and dusting.
Assists the Lead Customer Service Associate and/or management as needed.
Performs all other job functions as assigned.
