About The Position

This position involves customer service duties, including processing transactions, handling money, and engaging customers to support the company's job training and education initiatives. The role also includes cross-training in other areas to promote employee growth and company productivity. Responsibilities extend to stocking, maintaining the sales floor, and ensuring the cleanliness of the store. The Customer Service Associate Trainee will be responsible for processing register transactions, handling money, counting down a drawer, and encouraging customer donations. A key performance indicator is achieving a 40% Round-Up transaction average monthly. Customer engagement involves greeting customers, focusing on their needs, maintaining a clean store, and effectively managing the register line and phone etiquette. The role also requires providing clear announcements and cross-training as a Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder. Duties include stocking merchandise, maintaining sales floor organization, determining prices of goods, and utilizing store systems. Maintaining the interior and exterior of the store, including cleaning tasks, is also a core responsibility. A clean personal appearance and adherence to the company uniform policy are mandatory. Regular attendance and performance of other essential duties as assigned are required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.
  • Process register transactions, handle money, and count down a drawer.
  • Ask every customer for a Round-Up donation and achieve a 40% Round-Up transaction average monthly.
  • Engage customers successfully by greeting them, focusing on them, maintaining a clean store, and thanking them for their support.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to all customer concerns.
  • Effectively manage your register line and use good phone etiquette.
  • Provide short, clear, timely announcements.
  • Receive cross-training as Donation-Utility Associate and Barcoder.
  • Train to complete opening and closing procedures.
  • Stock and maintain sales floor with newly processed merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized sales floor by recovering standards through sizing of merchandise and organization of wares and furniture.
  • Establish or identify prices of goods via the type of merchandise, identifying markings, or asking for help from an on-site manager or supervisor.
  • Utilize systems, including phones and paging systems, and make regularly scheduled announcements.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the store in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times.
  • Wear company-issued uniform.
  • Attend work regularly.
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.
