About The Position

The Customer Service Associate supports a positive shopping experience by assisting customers, processing sales transactions, maintaining merchandise and store cleanliness, and helping ensure a safe and respectful environment. The role includes operating an assigned cash register, protecting cash and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, unloading trucks, and replenishing stock in accordance with productivity standards. Associates also clean and restock bathrooms, sweep and mop floors, take out trash, and keep all areas neat and presentable. Other duties may be assigned. This is a part-time seasonal position at Dollar Tree in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain the security of cash and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
