About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. The role includes assisting customers with questions and recommendations, managing sales transactions at an assigned cash register, maintaining cash security and protecting company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving merchandise, and helping unload trucks and replenish stock to productivity standards. The associate is also responsible for supporting a positive, safe, and respectful store environment through professional and friendly interactions, and maintaining store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and other areas. Other duties may be assigned. This is a part-time position located at 116 E Harden St., Graham, North Carolina 27253.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
