About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to help deliver a positive shopping experience. The role includes assisting customers, operating an assigned cash register, protecting cash and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, replenishing stock, and maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable store. Associates are expected to interact professionally and respectfully with customers, coworkers, and leaders, and to perform other duties as assigned. The position is part-time and located at 6531 Hwy 3059, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70615-4404.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions at an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, assist with unloading trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
