Customer Service Associate I
About The Position
The Customer Service Associate assists customers and supports store operations to provide a positive shopping experience. The role includes answering customer questions and making recommendations, operating an assigned cash register, safeguarding cash and company assets, stocking and recovering merchandise, receiving deliveries, unloading trucks, and replenishing stock to productivity standards. The associate also maintains a positive, safe, respectful, and professional environment and keeps the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
- Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height.
- Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
- Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
- Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
- Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
- Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
- Help ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
