About The Position

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is an internationally accredited agency focused on protecting life and property, promoting traffic safety, and providing professional public safety services. As a Customer Service Assistant 2 with Central Records, you will be responsible for researching and searching for video files, utilizing specialized software to redact confidential information from audio and video recordings, and working with the ODPS Legal Office on redaction-related inquiries. You will also categorize, organize, and classify files, and track, manage, and update databases and tracking sheets.

Requirements

  • 9 months of training or 9 months of experience in office practices and procedures.
  • 9 months of training or 9 months of experience in public relations or customer service that included techniques for handling difficult people.
  • 9 months of training or 9 months of experience in typing, keyboarding, data entry, or word processing.
  • 9 months of training or 9 months of experience in the operation of a personal computer.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience with video file searching and redaction.
  • Experience with specialized software for redaction.
  • Experience working with legal offices.
  • Experience in categorizing, organizing, and classifying files.

Responsibilities

  • Research and search for video files.
  • Utilize specialized software and computer equipment to redact personal and confidential information within audio and video recordings.
  • Work directly with the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) Legal Office on questions related to redactions.
  • Categorize, organize, and classify files that are received, processed, and released.
  • Track, manage, and update database and/or tracking sheets.
