About The Position

The Ohio Department of Public Safety, Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking a Customer Service Assistant 2 for the Central Records division. This role involves researching and redacting information from video files using specialized software, collaborating with the ODPS Legal Office, and organizing, classifying, and tracking files. This is an in-office position requiring full-time commitment.

Requirements

  • 9 months of training or experience in office practices and procedures.
  • 9 months of training or experience in public relations or customer service, including techniques for handling difficult people.
  • 9 months of training or experience in typing, keyboarding, data entry, or word processing.
  • 9 months of training or experience in operating a personal computer.
  • Equivalent of the above minimum qualifications for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Research and search for video files.
  • Utilize specialized software and computer equipment to redact personal or confidential information within audio or video recordings.
  • Work directly with the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) Legal Office on questions related to redactions.
  • Categorize, organize, and classify received, processed, and released files.
  • Track, manage, and update databases or tracking sheets.
