About The Position

Safely and effectively procures new business and maintains existing customer base. This role involves soliciting new business and maintaining the existing customer base within the meat, fish, food processing, and restaurant industries. Responsibilities include managing hard material, grease trap services, used cooking oil collection, and repair/maintenance of drains and grease traps. The representative will communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction, identify needs for additional services or equipment, and attempt to retain cancelled accounts. The position requires scheduling meetings, conducting cold calls, and preparing customer setup sheets. Daily reporting to management and following up on missed pickups are also key duties. The role demands professional and ethical interaction with customers and colleagues, adherence to procedures, and consistent attendance and punctuality. Other duties may be assigned as business needs evolve.

Requirements

  • 75-90% travel requirement
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience and contacts in the restaurant/food industry.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • High school diploma

Responsibilities

  • Soliciting new business and maintaining the existing customer base in the meat, fish, food processing, and restaurant industries for hard material, grease trap services, used cooking oil collection, and repair and maintenance of drains and grease traps.
  • Communicating with customers on an ongoing basis to determine service satisfaction, identify needs for additional services or equipment.
  • Meeting with cancelled accounts to determine reasons for cancellation and attempt to regain the accounts.
  • Scheduling meetings with customers and setting up cold calls in identified areas.
  • Communicating orally and in writing with customers and all levels of Company personnel, including business owners, officers, management, and staff.
  • Meeting/communicating with City and/or County inspectors involved in regulating and enforcing laws and regulations pertaining to the services provided.
  • Preparing customer setup sheets and entering new customer information into the Company’s routing system.
  • Providing daily reports to the Division General Manager and Procurement Operations Manager.
  • Following up on stops with no material picked up to determine the cause and if re-routing is necessary.
  • Interacting with others in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Following department and company procedures.
  • Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Performing other duties as assigned for the efficient and effective operation of the business.
