About The Position

Local Eclectic is hiring several part-time Customer Experience Associates to provide personalized customer support over email and live chat. Associates also handle order and inventory tasks related to returns and warranty claims, which may include shipping and fulfillment. They routinely share customer feedback about products and processes with the wider team to support continuous improvement.

This is an onsite position at Local Eclectic’s flagship location at 212 East Ontario in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood; it is not remote. Hours are variable according to seasonal business volume, with more hours during peak periods such as holidays and launches and fewer during slower stretches. The schedule is typically 10–29 hours per week, with shifts between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend availability is required during peak periods, including Black Friday through Cyber Monday. Team members are measured against weekly productivity and quality benchmarks.

Requirements

• Availability for a flexible part-time schedule, typically 10–29 hours per week, varying with business needs.
• Ability to work onsite at the Chicago Streeterville location for scheduled shifts.
• Weekend availability during peak periods, including Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
• Excellent written communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to problem-solve independently and navigate complex customer issues.
• Sound judgment about when to resolve an issue independently and when to escalate it.
• Comfort learning new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by email and live chat in Local Eclectic’s brand voice.
• Process returns, exchanges, and warranty claims from start to finish.
• Update order and inventory records accurately across operational platforms.
• Resolve routine issues independently and escalate complex issues to the team.
• Report recurring customer feedback about products and processes.
