Your mission, roles and responsibilities Position Summary: The Customer Engineering Manager holds responsibility for customer program engineering and technical acquisition activities across assigned OEMs. Responsibilities: Build and maintain customer intimacy particularly with engineering representatives of the OEMs assigned Establish and maintain customer engineering budget and engineering gross costs budget per program Manage the Customer Engineering team hierarchically and ensure functional management of the team members (including product design engineers (PDE) Ensure good communication within the extended technical team, production plant, offshore development sites, and support teams as well as sub suppliers of engineering services, tooling and BOPs Coach & follow-up his or her team members to reach performance standards Ensures engineering related activities in customer programs (QCDP) Ensures technical concept elaboration in the framework of new business acquisitions Ensure product and process definition according to the technical needs including Faurecia standards Ensures proper and complete DV and PV according to customer specification Coordinate global engineering activities for customer programs and acquisitions Is the contact person for the OEMs assigned globally Ensure together with Product Line, Technology Engineering and Design line, that programs are properly staffed with qualified engineers Ensures the involvement of the engineering departments for product innovation, intellectual property protection and new technology transfer and deployment Participates in development of organizational objectives, plans and policies The supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and hiring new employees, conducting performance reviews, planning and directing work, disciplining employees, motivating and educating subordinates, guiding and supporting employees in their professional development and other leadership responsibilities All program-related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Faurecia Program Management System. Your profile and competencies to succeed Education / Experience: Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering and Business / Management is preferred Minimum 15 years of automotive product development / manufacturing engineering experience is suggested Knowledge / Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate efficiently with all levels of management, co-workers and subordinates.
