About the position
The Customer Engineer role at Builder.io involves supporting technical users in integrating and customizing the Builder platform, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, identifying customer needs, informing the product roadmap based on customer feedback, improving product documentation, and being a product expert and customer liaison. The ideal candidate should have experience in front-end development, familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, and experience working directly with customers. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong communication skills and the ability to tackle technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Support technical users by assisting them with integrating and customizing Builder for their unique needs
- Own technical integration from start to finish for all Enterprise-level customers
- Lead regular demos and trainings on the product
- Collaborate with the Support team to communicate known issues and resolve user's technical issues
- Escalate and assist the engineering team when necessary
- Identify customer needs and drive optimal adoption of the platform
- Serve as a technical liaison with the largest and most important customers
- Gather customer feedback and feature requests to inform the product roadmap
- Improve product documentation and code examples
- Act as a product expert, customer liaison, and debugging guru
- Work collaboratively across teams and departments
- Have 3+ years of experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or similar
- Experience with Shopify or integration with API-driven e-commerce platforms is a plus
- Ability to work directly with customers or in a forward-facing role
- Understanding of the needs of growing businesses and emerging web development trends
- Passion for helping customers and providing strategic and technical solutions
- Proactive problem solver with high reliability and attention to detail
- Ability to work individually and collaboratively within a team environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to learn from mistakes
