About The Position

The Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board (WCB) is seeking individuals with a strong desire to help others, demonstrating empathy, caring, and understanding, to join their team at the Regina Head Office. This permanent position is within a department that manages the delivery of services to customers with complex, serious, and/or longer-term work injury claims. The primary focus is on customer experience, with team members expected to provide superior service and support. The WCB is undergoing a significant business transformation to evolve its service and make a difference in the lives of Saskatchewan's workers and employers.

Requirements

  • University degree in health care, education, social sciences, disability management or business
  • Minimum of one year case management experience (defined as being responsible for an assigned client caseload and held accountable for all decisions and actions that impact individual cases)
  • Valid class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Assessing the needs of individual workers
  • Administering the benefits of the Workers’ Compensation Act
  • Exercising leadership in the development of goal-oriented recovery and collaborative return-to-work planning
  • Partnering with workers, employers, health-care providers, unions, and other service providers to ensure appropriate recovery and return to work planning
  • Managing assigned caseloads
  • Preparing reasoned, plain language decisions
  • Adhering to procedures for return-to-work management
  • Approving and authorizing services and benefits for injured workers
