About The Position

Under general supervision of the Collection’s Manager, this role responds to customer inquiries and performs a variety of duties related to the connection and disconnection of utility accounts within the Collection’s Division (Utility Billing) – Finance Department.

Requirements

Two (2) years clerical experience involving public contact and financial transactions.
Ability to work under pressure and to interpret and apply both written and oral instructions.
Knowledge of general office procedures to include 10-key calculator operations and proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with city employees and the public.
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Satisfactory driving record
Eligibility to legally work in the U.S.
The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

Operates the Customer Service Area in accordance with City policies and procedures.
Processes new accounts; transfers; and receipts.
Accepts payments and ensures accuracy of information.
Research; processes; and responds to customer inquiries and account requests.
Assists other Customer Service Representatives in performing duties related to customer accounts and collections.
Provides information to customers; receives; and ensures proper handling and/or routing of customer complaints.
Performs other duties as required/assigned.
All City employees are required in the course and scope of their employment to provide services for the benefit of the public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Kingsville’s citizens.
City employees must be able to work immediately before during and/or immediately after an emergency.
