About The Position

The Custom Solutions Electronic Technician will be responsible for designing, fabricating, prototyping, and troubleshooting electronic systems and assemblies tailored to unique client requirements and custom applications. Unlike standard electronic technician roles, this position demands a high degree of creativity, adaptability, and collaboration to turn technical concepts into fully operational, high-performance custom solutions. The Custom Solutions Electronic Technician will bridge the gap between sales engineering concepts and reality. This individual will build specialized electronic enclosures, work with several digital protocols, many different instruments, many different transducers, and adapt custom modifications to meet our customers’ specific application needs.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in Electronics Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, a related field, or equivalent military/completed trade apprenticeship.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electronics benchwork, prototype assembly, custom modifications, and component-level repair.
  • Exceptional proficiency in reading complex schematics, using diagnostic software, and operating precision hand tools.
  • Strong analytical and “think outside the box” troubleshooting capabilities to resolve hardware issues without existing standard operating procedures.
  • Experience with learning and using many types of instrumentation.
  • Experience with load cells and torque transducers.
  • Experience using ERP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Current or past certification in IPC-A-610 or equivalent is preferred.
  • SyteLine knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, wire, and assemble custom electronic transducer systems, prototypes, enclosures, and specialized wire harnesses based on preliminary engineering drafts or verbal instructions.
  • Perform precision surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering, PCB rework, and component-level modifications.
  • Set up specialized tests using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
  • Interpret, correct, and review complex electronic schematics, block diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Work directly alongside sales engineers and technicians to troubleshoot, make document changes, and draft clear and understandable user manuals for custom solutions.
  • Master Interface product offering.
  • Assist with product testing, labeling, and system calibrations.
  • Learn new technologies as presented by team members.
  • Support customers with technical questions about instrumentation.
