Custodian (Evening-Norfolk)
About The Position
Tidewater Community College (TCC) is seeking applications for part-time Custodian positions at the Norfolk Campus for the evening shift. This essential position requires the ability to report to work during inclement weather for snow removal and application of snow-melt. The role involves providing a full range of custodial and housekeeping services for college facilities, including trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, and black/white-board cleaning. Additionally, the position may require room set-up/take-down assistance, light bulb replacement, and assisting with special events. Maintaining good attendance is crucial. TCC has served South Hampton Roads for 50 years and is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in the region.
Requirements
- Must be able to report to work during inclement weather.
- Must be able to assist in snow removal from entries and walkways and application of snow-melt when required.
- Must be able to report to work and fulfill responsibilities of the position in the event of college/campus closure due to weather or emergent conditions.
- Maintain and demonstrate good attendance habits.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of custodial/housekeeping services for college facilities.
- Trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, black/white-board cleaning.
- Provide room set-up/take-down assistance.
- Light bulb replacement as assigned.
- Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Maintain and demonstrate good attendance habits.
- Report to work and fulfill responsibilities during college/campus closure due to weather or emergent conditions.
- Assist in the set up and take down of special events if assigned.
- Comply with laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
- Assist in snow removal from entries and walkways and application of snow-melt when required.
