About The Position
Tidewater Community College (TCC) is seeking applications for Part-time Custodian Positions for the Virginia Beach Campus. This recruitment is to fill 2 positions. This position will provide a full range of custodial/housekeeping services for college facilities. The college has served South Hampton Roads for 50 years and is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in the region. TCC has 4 campuses, 7 regional centers, and 2 cultural institutions.
Requirements
- Must be able to climb a six foot ladder and lift up to 50 lbs. unaided.
- Must be able to report to work during inclement weather and assist in snow removal from entries and walkways and application of snow-melt when required.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of custodial/housekeeping services for college facilities.
- Trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, black/white-board cleaning.
- Provide room set-up/take-down assistance.
- Light bulb replacement as assigned.
- Perform other cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Maintain and demonstrate good attendance habits.
- Provide cleaning services to the colleges buildings, to include, but not limited to, daily removal of trash, mopping, dusting and sweeping, vacuuming.
- Assist in the set up and take down of special events if assigned.
- Complies with laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
- Assist in snow removal from entries and walkways and application of snow-melt when required.
