About The Position

The Custodian cleans and maintains terminal facilities at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), helping provide a safe, clean environment and an excellent guest experience. The Custodial Services team serves airport customers, tenants, and internal stakeholders, and works to maintain cleanliness, appearance, and function to high standards. The role requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and proactive responses to guest concerns, while interacting with customers according to the organization’s values of integrity, courtesy, and respect. Candidates must be able to obtain all required security badge access, including CBP access, within six months of hire.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow simple oral instructions at a fundamental level, generally acquired through up to eight years of formal schooling.
• Ability to obtain all required security badge access, including CBP access, within six months of hire.
• No experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial services, including mopping, polishing, stripping, and waxing floors; vacuuming and shampooing rugs; dusting and polishing furniture; and washing windows.
• Unload and move furniture.
• Clean restrooms.
• Empty trash and set it out for collection.
• Order cleaning supplies and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Respond proactively to guest concerns and help maintain terminal facilities.
• Perform other related maintenance and janitorial services as requested.
