About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Custodian to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout its satellite production facility in Midland, Texas. The role helps ensure production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and common spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time opening for Shift 3, scheduled Friday through Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Base pay is $20.00 per hour, plus a 20% shift differential. The position may involve working around large structures, equipment, tooling, moving mechanical parts, tight or confined spaces, and conditions that may include noise, dust, varying temperatures, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous materials such as carbon fiber. Personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety goggles, and steel-toe boots, is required as applicable.

Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to stand, work on one's feet, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive and precision tasks.
Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
Ability to work near large structures, equipment, tooling, and moving mechanical parts, and in tight or confined spaces.
Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items weighing up to 40–50 pounds as required.
Ability to read and identify colors on labels or signage.
Ability to work in environments that may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or hazardous materials, such as carbon fiber.
Ability to use personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety goggles, and steel-toe boots.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
One to three years of previous custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in production and office areas according to custodial SOPs.
Remove trash and recycling and dispose of waste according to facility procedures.
Clean machinery exteriors, work surfaces, and equipment as permitted.
Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Maintain cleaning equipment and report maintenance needs.
Follow safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and use of PPE.
Respond promptly to spills or emergency clean-up situations.
Support basic housekeeping in production areas to maintain inspection readiness.
Assist with periodic deep-cleaning tasks, including floors, walls, and vents.
Follow company policies and OSHA safety standards.
Support facility audits and inspections.
Perform other duties as assigned.
