About The Position
50 North has been serving older adults and their families in Hancock County for over five decades, assisting them through significant life transitions. Our mission is to enhance the lives and support the independence of individuals aged 50 and older in Hancock County. We provide solutions across key areas including ACTIVITIES, CHORES, NUTRITION, OUTREACH, and WELLNESS. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented Full-Time Custodian to contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, guests, and staff. This role is more than just cleaning; it's a hands-on position ensuring our facility is prepared for daily programs, special events, and community activities. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial, facilities, housekeeping, or maintenance experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of offices, common areas, activity rooms, restrooms, and entrances by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean and restock restrooms and replenish paper and cleaning supplies.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for daily activities, meetings, and special events according to room layouts.
- Keep entryways, sidewalks, porches, and exterior areas neat and safe.
- Perform light laundry duties as needed.
- Remove snow and apply salt or ice melt to maintain safe building access during winter weather.
- Respond promptly to custodial and facility setup requests.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned to support facility operations.
