About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and other school facilities. The Custodian will also be responsible for tasks such as trash removal, floor care, window washing, and reporting any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to operate custodial equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and other school facilities.
Empty trash receptacles and remove trash to designated areas.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors.
Vacuum carpets and rugs.
Clean and dust furniture, walls, and fixtures.
Wash windows and interior glass.
Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Report any maintenance, repair, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
