Requirements

  • Basic computer skills are required, including ability to: Navigate basic computer systems and programs.
  • Use a computer to clock in and out of work.
  • Complete online training courses with minimal technical assistance.
  • Effectively communicate via email and other communication platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams).
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a custodian, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have ability to obtain a lift truck certification.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including ability to n avigate basic computer systems and programs, use a computer to clock in and out of work, complete online training courses with minimal technical assistance, and effectively communicate via email and other communication platforms (i.e. Microsoft Teams).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and scrub all floors.
  • Empty trash, garbage, and recycling containers daily.
  • Clean and wash walls, windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Clean all restroom fixtures and refill dispensers.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and furniture.
  • Complete assigned online training by the established due date(s).
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Depending on assignment and location, this role may assist up to 30% of the time with clerical duties including but not limited to reviewing maintenance work orders, document scanning and filing, email communications, and updating expense spreadsheets.
