About The Position
Mason City Schools is seeking a Custodian for the Mason Early Childhood Center. This is a full-time position with 8 paid hours per day and a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch. The shift is 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the assigned areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a BCI and FBI criminal background check
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, squat, and lift in excess of 50 lbs on a routine and ongoing basis
- Reliable transportation to travel between buildings/departments
- Proven history of good attendance
Responsibilities
- Follow a daily schedule of cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting in all assigned areas.
- Clean furniture, shades, drapes, windows, restrooms, doors, and storage areas as assigned.
- Report in writing to administration any observed needs for repair or maintenance.
- Secure the building at night.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or head custodian.
