About The Position

The Custodian maintains and cleans university buildings and surrounding exterior areas. Duties include routine cleaning and sanitizing, setting up furniture and equipment for university events and activities, maintaining janitorial supplies, and deep cleaning buildings during inter-sessions. The position also includes clearing ice or snow from building entrances and walkways and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Move and arrange furniture and equipment as needed.
Set up chairs and tables for university special events and other scheduled or unscheduled activities.
Vacuum carpeted areas; sweep and mop floors; and wash interior and exterior windows.
Empty trash, reline trash containers, and dust furniture and fixtures.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, and clean and wipe mirrored surfaces and whiteboards.
Restock supplies as indicated.
Remove trash from exterior areas surrounding the cafeteria, residences, offices, and academic areas.
Maintain inventory levels of janitorial supplies in designated closets and submit restock requests.
Deep clean buildings during inter-sessions, including classrooms, the gymnasium, offices, and residential areas; strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets, and wash walls.
Sweep and remove ice or snow from building entrances and walkways.
Perform other duties as assigned.
