About The Position

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining an assigned school facility in a clean, orderly, and secure manner. Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. Requirements

  • Pass Assessment Test
  • Complete application for this position (including 2 references)
  • Successfully complete an interview with a member of the OUSD hiring teams
  • Negative TB test current within past 60 days
  • Sealed copies of all college transcripts
  • Valid Driver's License, ID card, Permanent Residency Card or current US passport
  • Social Security Card (no copies)
  • All hires are contingent on applicant passing criminal background check.
  • Graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed.
  • Personality and character suitable to work in schools.
  • Employment eligibility that may include fingerprints, Tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors; vacuum rugs and carpets.
  • Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.
  • Empty and clean waste receptacles, including trash barrels.
  • Clean restroom, locker room, and shower.
  • Wash windows and wall, polish metal work and clean chalkboards.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment in preparing multipurpose rooms or classrooms for special events or meetings.
  • Pick up paper and other debris from school grounds, walk areas, and the areas adjacent to the school facilities; sweep concrete surfaces adjacent to the school buildings.
  • Perform special maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.
  • Assist in maintaining school security and fire safety as assigned; assist in maintaining fire extinguishers.
  • Communicate with students, faculty, and the public; provide directions or other information; establish communication according to established guidelines.
  • Perform minor maintenance work as assigned.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
