About The Position

Buckeye Catholic is seeking several part-time custodial staff to ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and security of parish and school facilities. This role supports the mission of Buckeye Catholic by performing custodial duties, preventative maintenance, and event setup/takedown, aiming to provide a welcoming and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

Compliance with BCI&I background checks and completion of Protecting God's Children program prior to beginning employment.
High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate required.
Frequent movement about the school buildings to complete essential job responsibilities.
Ability to be a team player and have harmonious relationship skills when dealing with co-workers and other parish employees, families, and the general public.

Previous custodian experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors.
Dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings, and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds. Washes windows.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas.
Removes stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Sweeps walks, rakes leaves, cuts grass, removes snow, or performs other incidental seasonal tasks.
Empties trash cans and replaces liners.
Refills soap supply dispensers.
Sets up and takes down furniture and equipment for events.
Cleans Chapel, stairwells, offices, restrooms, and common areas including kitchen and coffee shop to maintain a welcoming and professional environment.
Coordinates preventative maintenance checks and schedules for equipment and facilities.
Regular attendance and punctuality is essential for this job.
Complies with federal, state, and local safety laws.
Maintains a neat and safe work area.
Oversees the disposal or recycling of waste, newspapers, and aluminum.
Performs other duties as assigned.
