About The Position

Fortis Native Group is seeking a Custodian for an onsite, part-time union position in Miami. The Custodian reports to Custodian Leadership and performs assigned duties, including cleaning and maintaining facilities, supporting room setups, using equipment safely, and securing buildings when not in use.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Ability to move, carry, and store items.
• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, reach, and perform other movements required for cleaning.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Reliability and willingness to perform assigned daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Report to Custodian Leadership and perform assigned duties.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain bathrooms using specified procedures and products.
• Dust, polish, and wipe furniture.
• Empty and wash garbage bins and follow recycling procedures when necessary.
• Vacuum flooring throughout facilities using upright or wide-area vacuums.
• Help set up facilities for meetings, events, or classrooms.
• Properly use and maintain power equipment and tools to ensure safety.
• Secure buildings and doors when they are not in use.
• Follow instructions regarding chemical use and workplace safety hazards.
