About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the buildings and grounds daily to ensure neatness and cleanliness. This includes cleaning up after repair jobs, organizing tools and supplies, and performing various cleaning tasks across different areas of the facility.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
No formal education or experience required, six months experience performing general housekeeping duties, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Ability to learn by method of on-the-job training including ability to follow instructions
Ability to perform routine and minor repair and maintenance activities of building and grounds
Ability to use and maintain maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner

Responsibilities

Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis
Cleans surrounding after each repair job
Ensures that all tools are collected and surroundings are left neat and clean
Maintains the neatness and orderliness of all tools, supplies, parts and equipment
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
Cleans sinks, urinals and toilets
Polishes mirrors and replenishes supplies
Sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes floors in all areas
Cleans Corps and Office Kitchen
Washes dishes, coffeepots and countertops
Cleans and defrosts refrigerators and freezers
Cleans stove, microwaves and ovens
Organize closets and supplies
Empties trash regularly
