About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for students and staff. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas, as well as performing minor repairs and groundskeeping duties as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a school environment.
Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.
Wash windows and other glass surfaces.
Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and making basic repairs to furniture and fixtures.
Assist with groundskeeping duties, such as mowing, weeding, and snow removal as needed.
Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
