About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks in assigned areas to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves a variety of duties related to the upkeep of school facilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must pass a background check.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
Clean windows, doors, and walls.
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, classrooms, and offices.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines.
Operate cleaning equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
