About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine custodial duties in assigned areas to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the upkeep and cleanliness of school facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial experience.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial duties in assigned areas.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
• Clean restrooms, classrooms, offices, corridors, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Clean and dust furniture, walls, and fixtures.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles.
• Clean windows and doors.
• Replenish restroom supplies.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
