About The Position

The Custodian at The Preston of Rockville provides exemplary service by keeping buildings clean and orderly, helping ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents and guests. The role includes community cleaning duties such as cleaning floors and carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. The custodian also safely moves furniture, equipment, and supplies; orders and maintains cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment; and reports maintenance repairs to a supervisor.

The position is listed for Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The role may require a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed. Employment offers are subject to a pre-employment process that includes a drug screen, a job-specific physical, a TB test, and a background check. The company will cover the cost of these requirements.

Requirements

• Six months to one year of custodial experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Successfully pass the pre-employment process, including a drug screen, job-specific physical, TB test, and background check.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduation is preferred.
• Experience working in a senior environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned community spaces, including rooms and lobbies.
• Perform floor and carpet cleaning, including carpet extraction; wash walls and glass; and remove trash.
• Safely move furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Report maintenance repairs to a supervisor.
