About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for performing routine custodial duties in assigned areas to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and other facilities. The Custodian will also be responsible for tasks such as trash removal, floor care, window washing, and reporting any maintenance issues.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to work the assigned shift (Nights).

Nice To Haves

Experience in a school environment.
Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of assigned areas, including restrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, and other facilities.
Empty trash receptacles and remove trash to designated disposal areas.
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in assigned areas.
Clean windows and glass surfaces.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.
Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
