About The Position

Under general supervision, to perform a variety of cleaning and related tasks in and around a school building; to do other related work as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation principles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
• Experience with floor care equipment (e.g., buffers, scrubbers).
• Knowledge of safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned school buildings and grounds in a safe, sanitary, and attractive condition.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing floors and furniture.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and remove refuse to designated areas.
• Wash windows, walls, and other surfaces.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs or tightening fixtures.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
• May be required to perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and raking leaves.
• May be required to assist with setting up and cleaning up for school events.
